A professional guitar player with a colourful background
Evan Plumpton can offer you a variety of comprehensive guitar lessons which will eventually lead you to the London and Trinity practical and theory exams. His lessons will start out with the fundamentals of guitar theories which include rhythm, tuning, chords and scales. These skills will be adapted to various levels depending on the student or lesson style that is being offered.
His main aim is to provide all of his students with the fundamentals of guitar playing in order to help them gain confidence and proficiency when it comes to performing in public or sitting for exams
Evan Plumpton attended his first guitar lesson when he was seven years old. He gave his first music lesson a couple of years later to his primary school teacher at the age of ten. He went on to learn music and get a better grasp at guitar playing by attending the Johann Strauss School of Music in Malta, a prestigious music school which was run by Maltese music tutors. There he studied under Wilfred Buttigieg’s wing.
After Evan graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music at the University of Malta, he went on to sit for his FLCM Masters Level 7 at the University of Cardiff under the guidance of tutor John Mills. He also studied under the tutelage of Simon Schembri and Carlos Bonell.
As a music teacher, Plumpton has over 30 years of experience. He has taught at numerous institutions in Malta including the Floriana Catholic Institute, Palazzo De La Salle and at a number of primary schools all over the island.
Evan Plumpton currently teaches at the Malta Visual & Performing Arts School and offers private lessons in his fully equipped music studio.
